Now that the seriously baffling pandemic has disappeared and we all seem to be back at work and play as we used to be, we can’t help wondering if we actually imagined the coronavirus/covid19 upheaval. It doesn’t seem possible that in a few very short months, this country was literally brought to its knees by a few strategically placed heavy boys. The amount of overbearing advice and rhetoric was staggering with the scientists being wheeled out every day in front of a small selection of journalists and introduced by the prime minister or one his most senior ministers. We had to obey this and that and for a couple of years, it was almost as if we had reached 1984, the book.
We do not have these bossy routines at the moment but since covid, when most of the country seemed to shut down and companies had to allow folk to work at home if they could – equipment and internet supplies allowing, it has been impossible to get a doctor appointment within a useful time. So much red tape surrounds every action too. So keeping well in the first place is the answer so that we don’t have to waste a lot of time, should the worst happen. Eating a really sensible diet, and there are thousands of examples and work sheets for those who want them, keeping excess weight off and drinking plenty of fluid. Thgese 3 things alone will help immensely.
