The Importance of Sleep For Your Health

Did you know that the amount of sleep you get can have a really big influence on your health?  The time we sleep is a chance for our bodies to recover, detoxify and heal.

We should aim to sleep around 8 hours each night. If you go to bed at 11pm, you should really sleep until 7am!  A lot of us have to get up earlier than that to be able to get to work, so if you know you need to be up earlier, ensure you are in bed at the right time.

Sleep is the main chance for our body to work to heal it’s cells.  The organs of our bodies use the resting time to refresh and clean themselves.  This is why you should avoid eating a heavy meal too close to bedtime.  Instead, aim to finish eating at least 3 hours before bed to give your digestive system a chance to complete before bedtime.
