Keeping An Eye On Blood Pressure & Cholesterol Is Stilll Worthwhile

It can be difficut to know what is important and what is selling stuff when we get submerged with healthy lifestyle information whenever we watch commercial tv or use social media.  There are hundreds of companies out there all selling supplements and ‘health products’ and it can be really confusing for the average consumer.

The most sensible way forward is to adopt a healthier lifestyle altogether and to step up the exercise.   There are many older folk who have not properly exercised for years, in fact since they left school – those heady days that offered netball or hockey for the girls in winter and tennis, rounders and athletics in the summer.  For the boys there was football or rugby in the winter with the same summer choices as for the girls.  If they were lucky, the school would take them swimming or might even have their own pool.   Now the pensioners of today need to make those choies of how to eat well and how to spend leisure time equally well.  Just going down the local health centre is an eye opener these days as surgeries are referring as many older folk as possible to the various ‘balance and mobility’ casses that are provided for the seniors of the community.  This is to get them off the sofa and to help stop the rot.  So many seniors who have not taken care of their health suffer serious aches and pains when they just need to take up better eating and exercise.  It is disappointing however to attend one of the classes regularly, being careful to follow the trainer’s avice on eating, drinking and moving about more, only to see several other regulars who obviousy do not heed that advice!
